    MBA - (INNOVATION, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND VENTURE DEVELOPMENT) 

     

    The MBA – IEVD programme is a hands-on and practice oriented programme in with interdisciplinary inputs. With a multidisciplinary approach to teaching and learning mostly tailored to individualistic needs of students, providing close mentorship and emotional support by internal faculty and external experts in the field. The contents and the approach of the programme would lead to bringing out informed, confident and motivated individuals who are empowered to lead change and positively influence lives of their own as well as others.

    The fundamental objective of the MBA-IEVD programme is to groom competent entrepreneurs who would explore entrepreneurship as an alternative means to address a wide variety of needs, issues and challenges and thus contribute in development of the country. The graduates of the programme are expected to become self-reliant in identifying opportunities for themselves that will ensure meaningful career paths as well as enhance livelihood possibilities for others.

    All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has introduced a unique 2 years’ full time MBA Programme in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Venture Development (IEV) 2019. It is an initiative under the National Student Startup Policy at AICTE and MHRD’s Innovation Cell. The broad curriculum structure and intended outcome of the programme at AUD is largely based on the format prescribed by the AICTE. The programme is thus parallel to other similar programmes offered in the country that have adopted the AICTE format.

    The programme includes four semesters, with some semesters, further divided into modules – First Semester (Module I and Module II), Second Semester (Module III and Action Learning Segment I), Third Semester (Module IV and Module V) and Fourth Semester (Action Learning Segment II).

     

    Foundation of Management and Entrepreneurship Track and Experiential Learning Track

    This comprises of a mix of classroom and experiential learning Modules (I, II and III). Teaching component offers in the form of core and elective courses blended with educational activities, capstone projects and Start-up Residency Programme in which students while working in team on real life problems they learn and develop creative problem solving skills, manage innovative ideas, and validate business opportunity potential. Along the way, student also study and acquire skill on entrepreneurial approaches ( concepts, process and scope) and management skills such as marketing of innovations, financial, strategy, business ethics and social responsibility, Entrepreneurial management decision making etc.

     

    Entrepreneurship Intensity Track and Start-up Establishment Track

    This comprises of Module-IV and Module V, mostly designed to deliver during Third semester of programme. Through these modules, incumbent will acquire specialized skills and build-up risk taking and other competencies towards venture establishment. This advance stage open up of venture planning opportunities for students who are pursuing a venture and expect to launch shortly as part of the Action Learning-II Segment which is the Start-up Establishment Track.

    The programme has a credit requirement of 76 credits for awarding of the degree.

    Classroom (34 credits): Out of 76 credits requirement over four semesters, participant needs to earn a total credit of 34 credits from classroom sessions which includes Core Courses (18 credits) and Elective Courses (16 credits) spread over the first three semesters. The participants also have the option to earn elective credits by opting courses offered online/MOOC approved by SBPPSE or outside the MBA IEVD Programme within SBPPSE or outside the school. The classroom credit distribution is designed in such a way that there is provision of more elective credits in the Third Semester. This make course more flexible and leaves student to choose appropriate courses and get more time to work towards venture planning, to meet customers and validate innovations and test business model assumptions in the real market scenario.

    Outside Classroom (8 credits): Participants also can earn upto 8 credits from outside classroom skill based programmmes organised via workshops/seminars.

    Three Capstone projects (10 credits): Three capstone projects are designed as part of first three Modules (I, II, and III) as designed to be delivered during First and Second Semester. These capstone projects are Experiential Learning Segments where students apply their classroom learning throughout the semester into practice of innovation & Entrepreneurship. Each capstone project will be an independent project/assignment to be accomplished under the guidance of mentor experts.

    Action Learning Segments (24 credits): Participant has to go through two action learning segments; one is designed during Second Semester and second is designed during Fourth semester and up to total 24 credits can be earned on successful completion. The first learning segment is more focus on experiential learning through a Start-up Residency Program (SRP) in a start-up or in an Incubation Unit. Whereas, the second action learning segment is focusing on establishing venture either in self or with support of incubation unit based on the innovation and business model developed as part of capstone projects.
