Aim: The course discusses the role of financial system and markets in an economy from the perspective of firms. The main aim of the course is to evolve the understanding of features of financial system, markets and instruments.

The course considers the economic principles underlying the working of national financial institutions. It aims to cover the basic theory and operation of financial systems and the emphasis is on financial instruments, markets in which they are traded, and their structures.

Course Outcomes:

  1. To evolve the understanding of features of financial system, markets and instruments.
  2. To understand the economic principles underlying the working of national financial institutions.
  3. The course aims at preparing the participants to be able to understand the dynamics of various types of financial markets with their numerous and innovative instruments as a source of finance to the enterprise.
  4. The participants should be able to build a holistic picture of the complete financial system with the instruments, markets and services essential to build the financing side of an enterprise.
